DLSS - Heat Exchanger Tubes - Straight Heat Exchanger Tubes

Straight Heat Exchanger Tubes

Straight tubes for shell & tube heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, coolers and industrial heat-transfer equipment.

DLSS supplies straight heat exchanger tubes in stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, nickel alloy, titanium, copper alloys, carbon steel and selected alloy steel grades, with project-specific dimensions, long lengths, surface conditions and inspection requirements.

From standard exchanger tubing to special-alloy and long-length projects, tube requirements are reviewed according to the material grade, governing standard, OD, wall thickness, length, wall basis, heat treatment and inspection specification.

Straight Tubes for Heat Exchanger and Condenser Fabrication

Straight heat exchanger tubes form the primary heat-transfer surface in many shell & tube heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators and process coolers.

Depending on the exchanger design, straight tubes can be installed between tubesheets or incorporated into removable and replacement tube bundles.

The performance and fit of a straight tube depend on more than the material grade. Critical purchasing parameters include:

Outside diameter · Wall thickness · Minimum or average wall basis · Tube length · Length tolerance · Straightness · Surface condition · Heat treatment · Tube-end condition · Tube-to-tubesheet fit · Applicable product standard · Inspection and documentation requirements

DLSS supports straight-tube projects from technical specification review through manufacturing, inspection, documentation, packing and international delivery.

Critical Straight Tube Requirements

Outside Diameter

Tube OD must match the tubesheet drilling, expansion or welding design.

Wall Thickness

Wall thickness should be clearly specified together with the applicable tolerance and wall basis.

Minimum WT / Average WT

Different material standards use different wall-thickness conventions.

Length & Tolerance

Tube length affects exchanger assembly, tubesheet projection and final bundle fit.

Straightness

Straightness is particularly important for long tubes and tight-support-spacing exchanger bundles.

Tube Ends

Cut quality, burr removal, cleanliness and end protection should follow fabrication requirements.
