EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 Inspection Certificates
Inspection documentation aligned with your tube specification and project requirements.
DLSS coordinates EN 10204 inspection certificate requirements for heat exchanger tube projects, including document review, material traceability and agreed inspection arrangements.
Certificate type, product scope and validation responsibilities are confirmed before production or material allocation.

EN 10204 3.1 & 3.2 Certificate Options
Both certificate types report results from specific inspection and confirm compliance with the order. The validation arrangements differ.

Type 3.1 Inspection Certificate
Confirms compliance with the order and provides specific-inspection results.
The certificate is validated by an inspection representative appointed by the manufacturer who is independent of its production department.
Key Points
- Specific Inspection Results
- Manufacturer Validation
- Independence from Production

Type 3.2 Inspection Certificate
Provides specific-inspection results with joint validation by the manufacturer’s inspection representative, independent of production, and either the purchaser’s authorized inspection representative or an inspector designated under official regulations.
Key Points
- Specific Inspection Results
- Joint Validation
- Defined Inspection Responsibilities
The certificate type does not replace the product specification. Required tests, sampling and acceptance criteria must also be defined.
Certificate Requirements to Confirm
A clear documentation requirement identifies the product, inspection scope, responsible parties and records needed for acceptance.

Product & Material Scope
Grade · Standard · Dimensions · Delivery Condition Identify the material and whether the documentation covers base tubes, finished tubes or both.
Certificate Type
Type 3.1 · Type 3.2 · Project Requirements Confirm the required document type and any additional purchaser requirements.
Inspection & Test Plan
Test Methods · Sampling · Acceptance Criteria Identify the required inspections, supporting reports and relevant production stages.
Validation Responsibilities
Manufacturer Representative · Purchaser / Designated Inspector Confirm the required validating parties and their responsibilities before work begins.
Material Availability & Timing
New Production · Stock Material · Existing Records Review the material status and whether the required inspection arrangements can be satisfied.
Document Submission Requirements
Document Index · Language · Format · Review Dates Agree on the required document package, submission timing and project references.
Please identify Type 3.2 requirements at the inquiry stage so that inspection responsibilities and evidence requirements can be reviewed before production.
From Material Identification to Document Review
DLSS reviews the connection between the supplied tubes, inspection records and shipment identification.

Confirm Product References
Match the order, material grade, dimensions, product standard and required delivery condition.

Maintain Material Identification
Review heat numbers, batch references and identification records through cutting, processing and packing.

Review Inspection Evidence
Check the required reports against the specified test methods, acceptance criteria and inspection scope.

Reconcile the Delivery Package
Check supplied quantities, packing references, certificate identification and outstanding document requirements before release.
Order · Material · Product Specification
Heat Number · Processing References · Product Identification
Required Results · Applicable Criteria · Supporting Records
Certificates · Packing List · Supplied Quantities
For cut, bent or finned tubes, the document package should identify the original material and the additional processing and inspection records relevant to the finished product. Original manufacturer documents are preserved. Any required correction is referred to the responsible issuer rather than made by editing certified test results.
Project Documentation Package
The final package is agreed according to the tube specification, processing scope and purchase requirements.

Inspection Certificates
Required EN 10204 Certificate · Product Identification · Relevant Test Results · Validation Details
Supporting Test & Process Records
Dimensional Reports · Required NDE / Pressure-Test Reports · Material-Test Results · Heat Treatment Records Where Required
Traceability & Delivery Records
Material References · Processing Records · Packing List · Agreed Inspection Release
Stock Material & Existing Certificates
Existing Type 3.1 material is reviewed separately when Type 3.2 documentation is requested. The available records, material traceability, inspection history and purchaser requirements determine whether an acceptable arrangement can be established. Automatic conversion is not assumed.
Supporting documents are included where required by the project. A packing list or general inspection release is not a substitute for the specified inspection certificate.
